Scapes: Land, Sea, City, Other

To me, the world is beautiful, chaotic, unpredictable, and can't possibly be captured in a photograph! But, we try, don't we, to appreciate and capture what we see? Sometimes, I feel sad that I can't convey clearly the interplay of color, form, and subject matter that I see around me. Modifying images, distorting them, crashing them, creating them is my way of getting at this wonderful place we get to live in.

About Me

My photo
Flowers of all types are a major source of inspiration for me. I love their absolute optimism and marvelous energy, both opening out and inviting bees in! My first interest in art was sculpture and I enjoyed learning to weld large steel pieces many of which are based on the curves and forms of flowers. Now I make oil paintings and digital images of flowers which emphasize their curving forms, brilliant colors, and energy. I also see a lot of humor in life and have been drawing cartoons to share with my friends. My hope here is to lighten the day for everyone. Humor heals me.
